Obituary for Vernon Robert Velasquez
Vernon R. Velasquez died at his home on July 3rd, 2018 in Roundup Montana, he was 75 years old. Vernon was born November 1st, 1942 in Center Colorado to Narciso Velasquez and Roselia Atencio. Vernon grew up in Brigham City, Utah where he attended Box Elder High school. Vernon married Lynda Bybee and they had three children; Anita, Lance, and Kristina. They were later divorced. He married Ruth Jaggi and they had three children; Melissa, Eric, and Ryan. They were later divorced. He then married Michelle Smith and together they built their dream cabin in Montana. Vernon retired from the federal government fish and wildlife resources after 30 years. After retirement, he was a guide and maintained an elk ranch in Montana. Vernon spent most of his time camping, fishing, and hunting.
Vernon is survived by his wife Michelle, children; Anita Hindberg (Matt Romer), Lance (LaTaschia) Velasquez, Kristina Herrera, Melissa Powers, Ryan Winward, and Eric Nicholas. Three step-children; Adria Loertscher, Angela Brown, and Ted Smith. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Brothers, Gilbert (Terrie) Velasquez and Bert (Nancy) Velasquez, and sister in-laws; Barbara Velasquez, Jerry Velasquez, and Verginia Velasquez. He is proceeded in death by his parents, and brothers Julian, Archie, and Lee.
Funeral services will be held in Brigham City, Utah at Myers Mortuary on July 13th, 2018 at 1:00 pm. A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 12:45 pm. prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in Vernon’s name at America First Credit Union to help pay for funeral expenses.
